Whirly Girls’ jewelry is designed by people passionate about making a difference. The Whirly Girls are Susan Neuenschwander and Shelly DeMotte Kramer. The share responsibility for developing and leading the Whirly Girls sales team and Shelly is the creative force. They are complimented and assisted by a team of Whirly Girls from all over the United States – and are growing by leaps and bounds. Whirly Girls’ jewelry is typically not sold at retail, but rather by way of private jewelry parties that are known as Whirly Gigs. They created their unique one-of-a-kind hip jewelry line with a view toward building a business that was fun, whimsical and creative. Most importantly, as a part of their business principles, they not only wanted to create beautiful jewelry, they wanted to build a company that could give something back. Their company is all about women celebrating women – and training, helping and empowering them, no matter what the circumstances.

All of Whirly Girls' jewelry is hand strung by a cadre of women in the Whirly Girls' design studio, located in Kansas City, MO. In many instances, their Cause-Related Jewelry Line has become the thing for which the company is best known. The Whirly Girls make bracelets designed for breast cancer, AIDS and heart disease awareness - to just a few. Their Spiritual Line is also a big seller throughout the U.S. But it's the fabulous pieces they design for celebrities that cause the most excitement. They've designed jewelry for the Grammy Awards ceremonies, popular television series', for the 2003 Oscar Nominees and a host of others.

The 2002 Grammy Awards

Whirly Girls’ and their one-of-a-kind jewelry received a tremendous honor in 2002, which helped catapult them to a brand that people instantly began “buzzing” about. That year, five of the Whirly Girls’ designs were selected for inclusion in the “goodie baskets” which were given to all of the celebrity performers, presenters and all the media covering the 2002 Grammy Awards ceremonies. In conjunction with that honor, the Whirly Girls’ work was featured on national television shows like The Rosie O’Donnell Show, Oprah, Entertainment Tonight and E! They’ve also been featured in publications like People, In Style and US Magazine. They are very fortunate – and very thankful – for an honor like the Grammy Awards. As a result of their selection for the Grammys, celebrities like Julia Roberts, The Dixie Chicks, India.Arie and Debra Winger have been exposed to and love Whirly Girls’ jewelry.

Spinning Grammy Gold into Oscar Gold, the Whirly Girls were asked to be a part of this year’s Oscar events! Tapped to design something special for the Oscar Nominees Luncheon, held March 10th at the Beverly Hills Hilton, the Whirly Girls did not disappoint. There are now some incredible new pieces – designed especially for all this year’s nominees, as well as all the celebrity presenters. The 2003 Grammy Awards

Back by popular demand! Whirly Girls were again selected to participate in the “goodie baskets” to be provided to the media and talent participating in the 2003 Grammy Awards ceremonies, to be held in New York on February 23, 2003. The Girls designed a plethora of new pieces for this event – including some custom pieces for performer Faith Hill’s Grammy gift basket. ABC's The Bachelor, Fall 2003 Season

Whirly Girls were asked to design a special piece for use by the producers of ABC’s popular series -- The Bachelor -- for the 2003 Fall season of the show. Soap Opera Digest's Annual Awards Ceremonies (April 2003)

Their custom work for Faith Hill's Grammy Gift Basket made the Whirly Girls a "don't miss" part of this year's annual awards ceremonies hosted by Soap Opera Digest, celebrating the best actors and actresses in this venue. Lisa Rinna, Kelly Ripa, Susan Lucci and a host of other lucky moms were recipients of the Whirly Girls one-of-a-kind Mother's Name Bracelets' and were thrilled beyond belief!

THE SUNSET MARQUIS MTV MOVIE AWARDS OASIS (June 2003)

This is an invitation only retreat hosted in a 5,000 square foot villa at the Sunset Marquis Hotel in Los Angeles, showcasing the latest, hottest trends - including, of course, Whirly Girls -- as well as providing an array of services from hairstyling to the ultimate in spa services. Attended by Hollywood's MTV generation-including high profile celebrities, up-and-comers, musicians; top tier stylists, fashion and entertainment industry tastemakers, as well as national, international and regional media. Whirly Girls designed some special pieces just for the MTV Movie Awards nominees, which were presented at this event.

InStyle Magazine's Summer Soiree (August 2003)

InStyle magazine hosts an annual summer soiree party to celebrate Hollywood's young up and coming actors, managers and agents. It's one of the hottest parties of the season. This year's event was held at the Lloyd Wright Estate on August 21, 2001. In the past some attendees have included Kate Hudson, Heath Ledger, Jessica Capshaw, Donnie Wahlberg, Henry Simmons, Gary Dourdan, Garcelle Beauvios-Nilon, Matt Davis, Neal McDonnough & Sarah Wynter.

ER Celebrity Golf Classic (September 2003)

We got the chance to joint present and former members of cast of the hit NBC television show "ER" and their friends at the 3rd Annual Celebrity Golf Classic benefiting Cure Autism Now. The day culminated with an evening awards banquet MC'd by KFWB sportscaster Eric Tracy, The Mulligan Man. Speakers included former ER star, Anthony Edwards and Jon Shestack founder of CAN.

Star-studded participants included Anthony Edwards, Noah Wyle, Laura Innes, George Lopez, Alex Kingston, Goran Visnjic, Paul McCrane, Mekhi Phifer, David Gallagher, Maura Tierney,Ming-Na, Sherry Stringfield, Nicole Robinson, Rickey Henderson, Jim McMahon, Jag's Catherine Bell & David James Elliott, 8 Simple Rules - Kaley Cuoco, CSI's -Gary Dourdan, Joe Montenga, rock legend - Alice Cooper, Motley Crue's Vince Neil, Elke Sommer and John Aylward.

Shaqtacular (September 2003)

"Shaqtacular" is a fun-filled day featuring "Shaq Jam" Concert. When Shaquille O'Neal joined the Los Angeles Lakers in 1996 and became the president of Athletes & Entertainers for Kids (AEFK), he wanted to create a one-of-a-kind fundraising event. Shaqtacular is that - a unique blend - just like Shaq! The celebrity team competition is complimented by performances from musical guests including Jessica Simpson and Nelly. Big and little kids alike enjoy attending the event and experiencing "Shaqland" - an exciting playground filled with interactive games, activities and toys!

AEFK was established in 1986 by Elise Kim and Howie Long (NFL Hall of Famer). For the past 17 years AEFK has provided innovative mentoring and educational programs and services to thousands of disadvantaged children and teens with the support of sports & entertainment talent.

AEFK Programs Include:

Entertainment Weekly 1st Annual Emmy Celebration (September 2003)

Entertainment Weekly, one of the nation's most respected entertainment magazines hosted this star studded, high profile event in celebration of the 55th Annual Emmy Awards. The ultra cool party was held at White Lotus, (one of Hollywood's new hot spots) on Saturday, September 20, 2003. Guests included television execs, industry leaders and A-list celebrities from film, TV and music.
